Margie Atkinson Smith (GLOVERVILLE, S.C.)

GLOVERVILLE, S.C. - Entered into rest on Sunday, January 4 2009, Mrs. Margie Atkinson Smith, 84, wife of the late Mr. James L. Smith, Sr., of Carline Road, Gloverville, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, two brothers and a great grandson, Laron Ennis. Surviving are two sons, James L. 'Jimmy' Smith, Jr., Trenton, SC and Phillip Smith, Gloverville, SC; a sister, Helen Williams, Burnettown, SC; a granddaughter, Tammy S. Ennis (Ron), Edgefield, SC and two great grandsons, Chad and Corey Britt. Mrs. Smith was born in Langley, SC to the late Martin Gary and Bertha Lee Rutland Atkinson . She was a retired beautician with 35 years of service and she was a member of Gloverville First Baptist Church and their Dorcas Sunday School Class. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Gloverville First Baptist Church with Rev. Walter 'Buster' Youngblood officiating. Mrs. Smith will be placed in the church on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Ron Ennis, Link Atkinson, Travis Moyer, Josh Moyer, Anthony McDaniel and Joey Marshall. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Dorcas Sunday School Class.
