SARDIS, Ga. - Mrs. Ollie Belle Dickey Shaffer, age 75, of 1211 Tom Bargeron Rd., died Friday, December 26, 2008 at her residence. She was born August 28, 1933 in Screven County, was a homemaker, and member of the Hilltonia Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday at the Big Horse Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Henry Bazemore and David Jones officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mark Cemetery in Sardis. Survivors include her two daughters, Betty Ruth Burke of Sardis and Katy Jenkins of Hilltonia; a step-son, David Cliett of Dearing; a sister, Louise Brown of Millen; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a great great grandchild. Active Pallbearers will be Billy Brown, J. L. Blackburn, Stanley Thompson, John Hamilton, Randy Chandler, and Mike Chandler. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 382. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Saturday at the Crowe-Fields Funeral Home in Millen.
