JAMAICA, N.Y. - Mr. Melvin Middleton, 72, of 145th Street, entered into rest December 18, 2008. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, December 27, 2008, at Carey Hill Baptist Church, Clarks Hill, S.C., with the Rev. Craig S. Brown officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Middleton, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of Carey Hill Baptist Church, Clarks Hill and a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Jamaica, N.Y., where he served as a deacon. Survivors include three daughters, Rosemary Middleton, Christian Middleton, and Melody Middleton, Jamaica, N.Y.; two sisters, Mary M. Talbert and Gladys M. Talbert; three brothers, Rev. Sam (Jessie) Middleton, Clarence (Sweetola) Middleton and Alonzo (Rosa) Middleton; two grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Rev. Adline Middleton and Annie B. Middleton; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Friends may call at the residence of Alonzo (Rosa) Middleton, 929 Todd Ave., North Augusta. G. L.
