LINCOLNTON, Ga. - Mr. Marion R. "Pete" Hardy, 65, of Elberton Hwy., died Wed., Dec. 24, 2008 at Wills Memorial Hospital, Washington. Funeral services will be held Sat., Dec. 27, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Morningside Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Fernandez officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery, Washington. Mr. Hardy, son of the late Cecil and Elizabeth Combs Hardy was born on Aug. 30, 1943. A former resident of Washington, Mr. Hardy had been a resident of Lincolnton for the past 25 years, and retired from Ferrellgas as a driver/ salesman. He was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. Survivors: Wife: Laverne Martin Hardy; Sons: Ray Hardy, Washington, and David Hardy, Augusta; Daughters: Susan H. Leighty, Covington, Debbie H. Jackson, Washington, and Hope Gwinn, Grovetown; Brother: Cecil Hary, Stockbridge; Sister: Frances Ogletree, Washington; Grandchildren: Allison Leighty, W.E. Burdette IV, Adam Hardy, Austin Hardy, Tabor Jackson, Brock Jackson, Avery Hardy, Haley Hardy, and Emily Gwinn Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Morningside Baptist Church.
