What is it?

The photograph we ran last week was the front-fender vent of the 2009 Lexus IS F, a high-performance version of the automaker's small sedan. The IS F is shown in its entirety with this week's auto review.

Chosen randomly from readers who identified the Lexus was Reynaldo Ruiz, of Augusta, who wins a prize from The Augusta Chronicle's Marketing Department.

Other readers who were spot on with their guesses were:

NORTH AUGUSTA: Michael Futrell, who wrote: "This was an easy one ... the Lexus IS F. I suppose all the cool letters have been used for performance designations and 'F' was all that Lexus had left."

AIKEN: Debbie Ard

CUMMING, GA.: Chris Rhodes, who wrote: "The F edition is a higher-performance model for Lexus, similar in concept to the V-Series for Cadillac, the M Series for BMW and the AMG models from Mercedes-Benz."

EVANS: Omar Ahmed, James Huckaby, Mike Hollister, Drew Clark and Jerry Paul

MARTINEZ: Kurt Breitinger and Bruce Yancey

WAGENER: Kerry Brown

For next week, take a look at the photo of the 2009 vehicle above; now, just tell us its make and model. Call (706) 823-3419 (leave a message if I don't answer) or e-mail glynn.moore@augustachronicle.com.

If you call, please make sure to tell your name plainly and spell it if it's unusual; also tell us the town you live in and your phone number. A winner will be chosen randomly from the correct entries.

Have a safe and happy New Year so you can come back and guess What Is It? in 2009!

Looks to me like a early Ford

Looks to me like a early Ford Pinto with a late model (JC Whitney mirror and moon roof) and a Chrysler door handle.
