AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Tuesday, December 23, 2008, Ms. Dorothy Cliett Smith, 78, at her residence. Ms. Smith was a native of Blythe, Ga. and resided in Augusta for the past 36 years. She was a retired sitter for the elderly and a Methodist. Survivors are one son, Edward Keith Smith and wife, Lisa of Sarasota, Fla.; two daughters, Carol Ann Smith and husband, Kennett of Harlem, Ga. and Karen Lynn Neal of Augusta; seven grandchildren; one sister, Patsy Cliett Dyches and husband, J.D. of Augusta; and two brothers, Atticus Buford 'A. B.' Cliett and wife, Barbara of North Augusta, S.C. and Robert Arthur 'Bobby' Cliett and wife, Lorena of Harlem. She was preceded in death by her parents, Atticus and Gladys Mae Beckum Cliett; and brother, Atticus Nicholas Cliett. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, with Rev. Bobby Coleman officiating. Interment will be at Bellevue Cemetery immediately following the service.
