Mary McDonald Bowles (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Sunday, December 21, 2008, Mrs. Mary McDonald Bowles, 78, wife of the late Richard N. Bowles Mrs. Bowles is a native and life long resident of Augusta. She graduated form the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Mrs. Bowles is a member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church. Family members in addition to her late husband include her sons, the late Richard N. Bowles, Jr., John M. Bowles, Ralph M. Bowles, Kevin T. Bowles, Gerald V. Bowles, and Joseph E. Bowles; daughters, Mary M. Bowles, Ellen E. Fortier, Patricia B. Bolick, and Martha B. Coscia; 21 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. The Funeral Mass will be held today, Monday, December 22, 2008 at 3 p.m. at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Most Reverend J. Kevin Boland, Bishop of Savannah, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers are grandsons: John Bowles, Rick Clifford, Chris McDaniel, Conner West, Michael Bowles, Joshua Bowles, Richard Bowles, Trex Bolick, and Patrick Bolick. Memorials may be made to the St. Mary on the Hill School Endowment Fund, 1420 Monte Sano Ave., Augusta, Ga. 30904. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. until hour of the service in the Church Narthex.
