JAMAICA, N.Y. - Mr. Melvin Middleton, 72, of 145th Street, entered into rest December 18, 2008. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Mr. Middleton, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of Carey Hill Baptist Church, Clarks Hill and a member and deacon of Bethany Baptist Church, Jamaica, N.Y. Survivors include three daughters, Rosemary Middleton, Christian Middleton, and Melody Middleton, Jamaica, N.Y.; two sisters, Mary M. Talbert, Edgefield, S.C. and Gladys M. Talbert, Suitland, Md.; three brothers, Rev. Sam (Jessie) Middleton and Alonzo (Rosa) Middleton, North Augusta, Clarence (Sweetola) Middleton, Jamaica, N.Y.; two grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
