COLUMBUS, Ohio - Mr. Eugene Harris of Columbus, Ohio, entered into rest Saturday, December 13, 2008. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Rehoboth Baptist Church, Appling, Ga., with Rev. Frank Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He was a native of Columbia County, Ga.; a retired employee of General Motors with 24 years of service and a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife, Mary E. Harris; two daughters, Sabrina (Bernard) Brown, Columbus, Ohio and Cynthia L. Bailey, Augusta; step-daughters, Mary Brigham Phifer, Columbus and Denetha (John) Saunders, Reynoldsburg; sisters, Louise Pullins, Maizelle Patterson, Julia Harris, Marguerite Battle and Novella Johnson, all of Augusta; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. The remains will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
