AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Bose Gowdy, Jr., of Amsterdam Drive, entered into rest Tuesday, December 16, 2008. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 19, 2008 at 1 p.m., at the Old Macedonia Baptist Church, Edgefield Co., S.C., with Rev. Lemuel Myers officiating. Mr. Gowdy, a native of Augusta, a member of the Bethany Baptist Church, McCormick Co., S.C.; He was employed at Westinghouse (SRS) for 37 years and was owner of radio station WPJK. Survivors are his wife, Ermma Gowdy, Augusta, Ga.; one daughter, Adriean N. Gowdy, Augusta; one son, Geoffery D. (Tony) Gowdy, Atlanta, Ga.; mother, Mary Gowdy, Augusta; one sister, Bessie (Sylvester) Mims, Augusta; two brothers, Thomas Gowdy, Broadus Gowdy, Augusta; father-in-law, Johnny Barton, Sr., Ridge Spring, S.C.; three brothers, Michael Barton, Morris Barton, Johnny (Patricia) Barton, Jr., Ridge Spring, S.C.; a host of other relatives and friends.
