Husband's cancer prompts need
From Staff Reports

A Warrenton woman would like assistance this Christmas for her husband, niece and granddaughter.

"My husband's sick with cancer," she writes, "and I'm the only one working, trying to pay the bills. I'm also trying to help raise my granddaughter and my niece, but I am unable to give them a Christmas this year. If you can, please help us."

The Augusta Chronicle's Empty Stocking Fund has helped people for 78 years. Last year, the charity raised a record-breaking $123,000, which went to more than 1,776 families.
