GREENVILLE, S.C. - Entered into rest Monday, December 15, 2008 in Greenville, SC, Mrs. Virginia Islar Bailey, 91, wife of the late Charles Jefferson Bailey, Jr., USMC Ret. Mrs. Bailey was a native of Augusta and had lived in Greenville since 2007. She was a homemaker, member of the St. Joseph's Auxiliary and a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Augusta. Family members include her daughters: Bevelyn B. McCoy of Greenville, SC, Diane B. McLaughlin of Columbia, SC; sister: Mary Evelyn Baxter of Augusta; grandchildren: James Dickey McCoy IV of Atlanta, Julie Diane McCoy of Greenville and David B. McLaughlin of Columbia. Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her grandson: William J. McLaughlin, Jr. Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 12:30 P.M. at Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Linda Birchall officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
