FIND MONEY FOR COLLEGE: A financial aid workshop will be held at the Diamond Lakes branch library at 6 p.m. The workshop is for juniors and seniors, their parents, and adults seeking help with their own educational expenses. DAVIDSON OPEN HOUSE: John S. Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School will hold its open house from 4-5 p.m. Potential students and their parents will have an opportunity to learn more about the school and pick up applications. The school is located at 615 12th St. Call (706) 823-6924.

SYMPHONY YOUTH COMPETITION APPLICATION DEADLINE: Applications for the Augusta Symphony Guild and the Augusta Symphony are due for the competition that will be held at 1 p.m. Jan. 25. Area students 10-18 years old are eligible. The instruments open for the competition are strings, woodwinds, brass, piano and percussion. Applications are available by calling (706) 826-4706 or at augustasymphony.org

SECTOR SHOW: Sector 7G, the all-ages venue at 631 Ellis St., will hold a metal X-mas show with Chairleg, Suns Collide, Nine Day Descent and Blood of an Empire.
