MARTINEZ, Ga. - Entered into rest Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Doctors Hospital, Mr. Charles Jerry Morris, 60, beloved husband of Janice S. Morris. Mr. Morris was a native and life long resident of Martinez. He worked for years with his father at H. H. Morris & Son's Supermarket. He also worked in the landscaping business and loved flowers. Mr. Morris was an entrepreneur who loved to work on his own. He never met a stranger and had a very giving heart. Jerry followed in his father's footsteps by being assistant chief of the Martinez Volunteer Fire Department that his father founded in the 1950's. He was a loving husband, father and "poppy" and always put family first. Family members in addition to his wife include his daughter: Melissa J. Overton (Don); sons: Charles J. Morris (Mandy), Christopher G. Morris (Tracey) and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Mr. and Mrs. Hartwell H. Morris. He will also be missed by his four-legged friend Haley. Graveside service will be held Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Troy Willard, Scotty Simmons, Hartie Cliatt, Casey Cliatt, Rick Morris and Jayson Wheatley. Honorary pallbearers will be the Martinez Volunteer Fire Department.
