SPARTA, Ga. - Herbert Harrison Bowers died December 12, 2008 at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, GA one day before his 100th Birthday. Gravseide services will be held at Culverton Baptist Cemetery on Monday, December 15, 2008 at 11:00 A.M with Revs. Jan McCoy and Alan McCoy officiating. Mr. Bowers was born in Hart County, but lived most of his life in Hancock County. For the past 2 Ú years he had lived at Kentwood in Augusta, GA. He was a retired employee of Reese's Pharmacy and Webster's Pharmacy. He was a member of Sparta Baptist Church and Culverton Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Baskin Bowers. Mr. Bowers is survived by three nieces, Mrs. Mary Carol Beasley, Augusta, GA, Ms. Eleanor Bowers, Louisville, Ky and Ms. Barbara Jean Bowers, San Diego, CA and one nephew, Mr. Jim Bowers, San Diego, CA.
