TRENTON, S.C. - Entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 11, 2008, Mr. Richard V. Campbell, age 85, of Trenton, S.C., husband of the late Ruth Fields Campbell for 52 years and son of the late Morill Campbell and the late Catherine Currier Campbell. He is survived by a daughter, Lois (Wayne) Fields Langley of Trenton, S.C.; brothers, David Campbell, Vincent Campbell, and Phillip Campbell; a sister, Phyllis Roe, all of Maine; three grandchildren, Wayne (Dori) Langley, Jerry Langley, and Phillip McCarty; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Alden, Leon, and Bobby Campbell; and a sister, Arleen Campbell. He was born in China, Maine but has been a resident of Aiken County for the past 66 years. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Gloverville, S.C. His daughter stated that along with being a good father, he was her very best friend, and he will truly be missed. There is a consolation in knowing that life for Mr. Campbell has not ended, but only begun in a better land. A private service will be held for Mr. Campbell at the Fields Family Cemetery. Memorials, in his honor, may be made to a charity of one's choice. Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main Street, Graniteville, S.C. Sign the guestbook at AugustaChronicle.com
