AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Frances Marshon Odum, 58, wife of the late Charles Carroll Odum, entered into rest Thursday, December 11, 2008. A memorial service will be held from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors this Sunday, December 14, 2008 at 4:00 P.M. with the Reverend Mark Tatum and the Reverend Rick Brown officiating. Mrs. Odum, a native of Summerdale, AL, had lived in Thomson, GA, and most recently made Augusta her home. She was the daughter of the late Walter Tex Smith and she was a twenty plus year employee of the Waffle House. She loved being outdoors. Survivors include to her mother, Margaret K. Smith of Augusta; sons, Richard 'Scott' Mills of Martinez and Horace Kenneth Suggs, Jr. of McCormick, SC, Charles W. Orum of Thomson, GA; daughters, Frances Michelle Perdue of Augusta, Cheryl Moll and Carol Leigh Bailey both of Thomson, GA; brothers, Terry Clayton Nix of Augusta and Walter David Smith of Aiken, SC; sisters, Rebecca A. Smith of Augusta, Sheila A. Smith of Hickory, NC, Tena M. Taylor of Blythe, and Juanita M. Tatum of Franklin, GA; as well as ten grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. The family will receive friends this Sunday December 14, 2008 from 3:00 P.M. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
