THE OIL COMPANIES should bail out the auto manufacturers. After all, they have been keeping each other in business. The oil companies have all of our money already.

CONGRATULATIONS to Sen. Chambliss for his return to office. I hope he has repented for his previous bailout vote and will not vote for any bailouts in the future, including the auto industry.

IT WAS A DISGRACE for Sarah Palin to be in Augusta.

WHY DOES NOT ONE - not even one - talking head or politician or economist ever suggest the solution to the economic problem is to immediately cut government spending and cut taxes?

A BIG THANKS TO ALL the players and staff of the Augusta Lynx over the last 10 1/2 years. You provided some great entertainment for a whole lot of people on otherwise dull, winter nights.

FRONT PAGE HEADLINE said: "Lincoln County is eliminated." Where did it go?

THIS IS A RANT TO parents who believe that their children are precious angels and can do no wrong in school. WAKE UP and smell the report cards and countless discipline referrals.

CONSIDERING OBAMA'S popularity, young men who chose to wear their pants below their hips should give up that habit and try to emulate Mr. Obama's sense of style.

COMPLIMENTS TO the Breezy Hill Baptist Church orchestra and choir for their fine performance of Christmas music at First Friday.

ATTENTION, UPWARDLY MOBILE people. Harrisburg is a diamond in the rough. Come help shine it.

HEADLINE: "Georgia outlook bleak" so Perdue must cut some spending. "Bleak" is the opposite of the correct headline. Cutting spending is great news. Of course, Perdue won't cut enough, but even a little will stimulate the economy more than anything any other government is doing. It's doubtful if Perdue realizes that, so let's surprise him and not pay any taxes while we're about it, since spending and tax cuts are the ONLY solution to our economic problems, brought on by who else? Politicians.

AFRICAN CHIEFS WERE the first to sell my people into slavery. Now my people have learned helplessness because of public welfare. Only we can free ourselves. We must embrace educational opportunities now!
