A mother asks for your help at Christmastime.
She moved to the area last year and had a good job and nice home. She lost her job earlier this year, however, and things have gone downhill.
"I had to move into the Salvation Army shelter," she writes, "and my son has changed schools three times. He is why I am asking for assistance. I won't have much money, if any, for Christmas, but my son hasn't complained at all. He is only 5 years old. I need your help in providing my son a Christmas this year."
The Augusta Chronicle's Empty Stocking Fund has helped people in need for 78 years. Last year, the charity raised a record-breaking $123,000, which went to more than 1,776 families.
