William Oliver Haas (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - William Oliver Haas III, 52, of Augusta, Georgia, died Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Palmetto Health Richland of Columbia, SC. He was born on January 31, 1956 in Tuscaloosa, AL. Bill loved fishing, hunting, camping, gourmet dining and blues, folk and country music. Surviving are his father, William Oliver Haas, Jr. of Fairhope, AL; his mother, Barbara Williams Wise of Augusta, GA; daughters, Jennifer L. Haas of Augusta, GA and Christie L. Haas of Aiken, SC; aunt and uncle, Steve and Mary Phillips of Birmingham, AL; cousins, Rusty Walton of Augusta, GA and Dan W. Walton of San Antonio, TX; his former wife, Robin Haas of Edgefield, SC. Mr. Haas was predeceased by a sister, Cecily Cavanagh Haas. A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at 5:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Augusta. The services to be conducted by The Rev. Margaret L. Beard and Dr. Andy Reese, Ministry Associate. A reception will follow the service.
