Health troubles hit parents

A Hephzibah woman asks your help.

"My family has never asked for help until now," she writes. "We have just found out my husband's health is not in the best of shape -- doctors have found a growth on his liver.

"We have always looked to him to be the bread-winner while I stayed home to attend to our two boys who are autistic and bipolar.

"I have also just gone through major surgery to have a tumor removed and we are still waiting on the results.

"Life at times doesn't seem fair, still we keep going and try to do our best.

"We really need this help."

The Augusta Chronicle's Empty Stocking Fund has helped people for 78 years.

Last year, the charity raised a record-breaking $123,000, which went to more than 1,776 families.
