Good letter. How does anyone put trust in someone who believes killing un-born babies is okay unless you beleive that too. Enough babies have been killed that social security and medicare would not be in trouble now. Sowing and reaping always works.
Last week David Thomas wrote a letter, and to date no one has answered him so I guess I'll try.
Mr. Thomas intimates that he, being one of the "educated" Obama supporters, feels that those who opposed Mr. Obama were not too bright.ÂI opposed Mr. Obama because of his refusal to divorce himself from some of his past associates.
When I look at some of those with whom he associatedÂin the past, I have problems.ÂPlease tell me where I am wrong when I question the likes of Jeremiah Wright; William Ayers and his wife; Tony Rezko; Rashid Khalidi; Frank Marshall Davis; Marilyn Katz; Kenny Gamble; and ACORN.
Mr. Thomas stated, "President-elect Obama doesn't support the murder of babies up to nine months ..." In an interview reported by Steven Ertelt of lifenews.com, you can read, "In a Sunday interview, pro-abortion presidential candidate Barack Obama defended his opposition to a ban on partial-birth abortions.ÂThough he wasn't in Congress at the time it voted on the ban, he said he would have supported it had it contained a health exception."
Mr. Thomas said, "One of the Ten Commandments says thou shall not kill.ÂAbortion and the death penalty are all the same."ÂThe death penalty is given to those whom a jury has found guilty of some offense worthy of that penalty.ÂPlease, Mr Thomas, explain to me what crime the infants who are murdered during a partial-birth abortion did to warrant their death penalty.
Because of my belief in the Bible,ÂIÂpray for Barack Obama and when he becomes the "president of all," as he stated, I will continue to pray for him.
I would ask Mr. Thomas if his researching has included reading Barack Obama's book, The Audacity of Hope, or James Cone's book titled, Black Theology-Black Power .ÂMine has.

Get over it. Obama is the president elect and soon will be the president. Past associations are what they are, past. Feel free to, in every instance, show how past associations influence his policy and future actions. We see no evidence of that. We don't live in the past, we look to the future, unless of course your name is Hannity or Rush - but, that is how they make their living. What's your excuse? Hello!!
It's wrong to kill babies. I'm glad Obama shares my view.
jack#'s you are joke. You and your ilk have blasted Bush for 8 years. Now you want everyone to "get over it." All I have heard from you lefties is how we should respect the office of the president now that Obama has been elected. Something which none of you have done. This is just funny to me. I have heard you blast Bush and Palin, even going so far as to say Palin should be home raising her children instead of running for office. What a bunch of two faced haters.
intimates? that is a term for women's undergarments, learn how to speak before posting your idiotic views.
GnipGnop: I guess the only reason that some people blasted Bush for 8 years was because Bush blew it for 8 years. If President Obama blows it for 8 years, feel free to blast him. In the meantime he has a clean slate. Bush started with a clean slate also. I still say, get over it and just be glad that there is a new day and a new vision for our America. Bush will soon go out to pasture and I feel no one will be any happier than he will and we should be happy for him. He deserves a long rest. It was his choice to let Cheney ruin his legacy. President elect has a new vision for America and for us. Lets just be receptive of that vision and hold his feet to the fire like we did Mr. Bush. We should wish President Obama well because he is our president of the United States and you, like me, love our country. Hello!!
GnipGnop: Try to think positive as I do, as an independent. HELLO!!
palomino, you of all people should not be criticizing others grammar, or for that matter calling anyones views idiotic.......
Speaking as an independent, we should give President Obama a chance to project his vision for our America.
Great letter Jim...Well written well researched...jack234 We may have to get over it but "we" certainly do not have to forget...Obama won, he made history but as to whether or not he will make a good President is still "up in the air" so to speak...As far as having a clean slate...Wow now that is reaching for the sky and beyond...:-)
I find humor and irony in so many posts and opinions here. Sure Obama is starting with the same "clean slate" as Bush. Let's see ..... two wars, our grandchildren in debt and a recessive economy. Some people are already blaming him for the state of things, even before he takes office. I didn't start a Bush Basher, trust me - Bush worked hard to earn my criticism. And while I know abortion is a huge part of the Republican platform, let's talk about all of the post birth abortions being performed in Afganistan and Iraq by a war. How many of those were civilians that lacked the how to or desire to even consider inflicting harm on America? How many of our American soldiers have died following the command of Bush? Where are the WMDs we started this war over? Opps, no WMDs, that's OK, let's still destroy infastructure, ruin lives and unstabilize the region in the name of democracy. Where is democracy for Darfur? And before anyone calls me an unpatriotic idiot or claims I am bashing our troops - I fully support our troops, many of whom also disagree with the war but continue to honor their country by following the direction and orders of their Commander and Chief.
I find, Martinez, your comparison of grown people fighting for a war to keep rampant terroristic bombings from our shores and the wanton slaughter of a child who cannot defend itself against extreme violence inflicted upon it(a person) to be insane...Your ability to write and speak what you please without constant fear of being shot or blown up should speak volumes to you, Martinez. Instead you use the fighting man or woman and the "shot in the head by an acid filled needle" as easily spoken as ordering a hamburger...
Yeah, thte villiage idiot, martinez hits the keys again. I guess bush and the repubs did everything you mentioned by themselves. WMDs, they had them idiot.
If President elect Obama doesn't have s clean slate, please list for me the things that he has done since winning the election by a landslide the you find objectionable. I'll put it on his slate and keep a running tally. HELLO!
Bush didn't need any help. In fact he is the kind of person that refuses help. Then he surrounded himself with yes people and people that would not make him look dumb. The last part didn't work. HELLO!!
No politician comes into office pure as the driven snow jack234...But no politician has ever achieved office after having so much "dirty laundry" aired before and during an election...In that Obama is second to none...
Oh my bad...Where are my manners jack234? Hi...:-)
Cheney and Rumsfeld were bad choices and it went down hill from then on. HELLO. We wish Bush well as he departs the white house. It was just a little too much for him. HELLO
234, uh, where do you get all this info you spew, guess you were the fly on the wall or was that fly speck?
I am still waiting for someone to explain the deaths of thousands of Kurds if there were no WMD's in Iraq. I have asked this many times before and still can't get an answer.
I guess that just tells us how really bad things have become, that the American voters would choose him anyway and are willing to give him a chance. I guess the last 8 years pretty well assured him a victory. Now, its time to forget the last 8 years and move forward. The nightmare has ended. I hope you are as excited as I am. Feel free to start the list. We will wait patiently. I, like you, will give President Obama no passes, but until he mess up, I will not be critical. He is our president and given the economy, he needs all the support we can give him and all the credit when he does well. He starts with a clean slate as did Bush. HELLO! HELLO!!!!
Gee Christian134 - I guess I missed where we actually went after the people who brought terrorism to our shores when starting the Iraq war. Silly me for not knowing that even 1 of those terrorist was from, had trained in or was at all connected to Iraq. Silly me for not knowing that after spending countless billions, killing untold thousands of civilians and completely destabilizing Iraq - Bush actually found and stopped Osama Bin Ladin. You can call me an idiot all day long and even beat me over the head with your bible but you will never convince me that starting a war in Iraq has made us safer here in the U.S.
lamthebadamerican: You can be knowlegable too, but you must study and be aware of world affairs. It is not easy but I have confidence in you. HELLO HELLO
Palomoron, pick up a Webster's.
White trash (first, please change your screen name, it insults one of my favorite bands). Yes we knew Saddam had chemical weapons that he used on the Kurds. We sold them to him!!!! The WMDs were destroyed after the first Gulf War. Strange, I can't seem to find all the righty posts saying we should respect and not criticize the Pres during the Clinton years. Rush etc made millions off of it. doesn't the LTE actually say that Obama would have supported the bill if it had a health exception? I guess it's OK for the mother to die as long as there is no abortion. then all the righties would be in favor of universal health care, universal college education, etc so the little bundle of joy could be looked after since his mother just died. It seems they only care for folks before they are born.
INTIMATEs
1. To make known subtly and indirectly; hint. Synonym: suggest.
2. To announce; proclaim.
This is pronounced slightly different from the word used for "women's undergarments"
Palamino, YOU learn how to speak before posting YOUR idiotic views.
The "vision" that one-term-only elect has for this country is through ROSE COLORED GLASSES because the campaign promises made will be impossible to fulfill. And if you kool-aid drinking knuckledraggers seriously believe the "universal health care---tax cuts---blah-blah-blah" Bravo Sierra, you are in for a letdown of magnificient proportions! The highlight of the next administration will be his exit and taking his hideous spouse with him. HELLO!
The voting public is fickle. Bush entered his presidency after a supreme court decision and goes on to receive the highest approval rating of any president. He wins the second election with the majority of electoral and popular votes and quickly goes down to receive the worst rating of any president. Now the fickle public has chosen another loser. What gives?
His approval ratings went up after 9/11. He had most of the country and the free world on our side. He won the second election based on a campaign of "fear and smear" (swift boat Kerry for getting wounded in Nam while W is missing his Guard duties). He squandered our good will in the world with his cowboy my way or the highway attitude. Most of the country finally woke up about all the bull leading to the war in Iraq.
Looks like this is another thread where the GOP usual suspects are upset by the truth exposed in martinez, jack and techlover's posts. Republicans hate when the big picture is analyzed. Wonder why McCain-Pallin failed? The American people are NOT stupid...and no longer falling for the right wing conservative political stunts. No more okie doke.
