LINCOLNTON, Ga. - Mr. Jack Saggus, of Chamberlain Ferry Rd., died December 1, 2008 at University Hospital, Augusta. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 2 p.m. at First Assembly of God with Revs. Lanis Lewis and Terry Bonds officiating. Interment will follow at Martin's Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery. Mr. Saggus' nephews will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Saggus, son of the late Robert Alvin and Lizzie Lee Wilson Saggus, was born on March 16, 1932 in Lincoln County. He had served in the U.S. Army and was retired from the Georgia Dept. of Transportation after 32 years of service. A member of First Assembly of God, Mr. Saggus had served as a Trustee and Board member. He was preceded in death by brothers, John and Ray Saggus. Survivors: wife, Peggy Parton Saggus; sons, Mark Saggus and wife, Tina, Lincolnton, Mike Saggus and wife, Amy, Greenwood, Maury Saggus and wife, Penny, Martinez; brothers, Aytch Saggus and Bobby Saggus, Lincolnton; sisters, Virginia Aycock, Lincolnton, Sadie Pearson, Appling, Mary Sisson, Statesboro, and Pat Phillips, Columbus; five grandchildren, Mark Saggus, Ansley Saggus, Austin Saggus, Brittany Parham, and Shelby Parham.
