BELVEDERE, S.C. - Graveside services for Mr. D. Ronald Whitley, 67, of Belvedere, S.C., who entered into rest December 1, 2008, will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Sunset Hill Cemetery. Chaplain Ken Wilson officiating. Veterans Honors will be accorded by the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Whitley was a native of Charlotte, N.C., having made Aiken County his home for the past twenty-one years. He was of the Baptist faith, a U.S. Air Force Veteran and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and received his Masters degree from the University of South Carolina. Mr. Whitley was a former College Business Officer. Survivors include his wife, Cathy Whitley; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Rebecca Whitley, Jr., Charleston, S.C.; three daughters and a sons-in-law, Kristin and Scott Owens, Greenville, S.C., Ramsey Whitley and Barrington and Billy Ray Bagwell, all of Belvedere; six grandchildren, Andrew Owens, Jennie Bagwell, Savannah Bagwell, Nataley Bagwell, Matthew Bagwell, and Harley Bagwell. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 and Thursday from noon until 1:30 p.m. The family will be at the residence of Debbie and Terry Smith, 10 White Oak Drive, North Augusta, S.C.
