This simple, warm cocktail is a winter tradition. To make honey syrup, warm 1/4 cup water in a small saucepan. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in 1/4 cup honey until completely dissolved. This makes enough syrup for four cocktails.

Warm Toddy

Start to finish: 10 minutes

Servings: 1

1/2 ounce dark rum

1/2 ounce rye or bourbon whiskey

1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice

1 ounce honey syrup

3 to 4 ounces hot tea or hot water

Lemon peel, for garnish

In a large goblet, mix together the rum, whiskey, lemon juice and honey syrup. Stir in the hot tea or water. Garnish with the lemon peel.
