A friend asks for help for a 53-year-old Augusta man who is ill and does odd jobs to get by.
"He has no real income and depends on food stamps," she writes.
He is also a diabetic and is on an indigent program for doctor visits.
"Any assistance you can provide would be put to good use and greatly appreciated," she said.
The Augusta Chronicle 's Empty Stocking Fund has helped people in need for 78 years. Last year, the charity raised a record-breaking $123,000, which went to more than 1,776 families.
