the woman is an idiot,
Political endorsements don't get much bigger than this one.
That's fitting, since elections don't get much more important, either.
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the most imposing presence in Republican politics today, whipped up an excited crowd at the James Brown Arena in Augusta Monday in support of Georgia Sen. Saxby Chambliss' re-election in today's crucial runoff election.
Only Palin could have led more than 3,000 area GOP faithful to stand in a chilly line snaking down the block and to the Bell Auditorium on a crisp early Monday morning after Thanksgiving. And none of the other speakers who preceded her wasted any time trying to compete with her: The crowd was waiting to explode for her, and it did.
No one in years has energized the GOP like Sarah Palin has.
The most important thing, though, was what she said: that the country and world are watching the Georgia election closely, since it could mean a filibuster-proof majority for Barack Obama if Chambliss loses the runoff to Democratic challenger Jim Martin.
In short, that could mean a blank check for Obama.
A Chambliss win, on the other hand, means checks and balances on the new administration.
Palin was stumping not just for Chambliss Monday, but also for conservative principles in general - limited government, freedom, the sanctity of life.
Those principles have never been more in jeopardy in our lifetimes.
Georgia simply must stand up for them by voting for Saxby Chambliss today.
the woman is an idiot,
palomino9 Please pay attention. you are not listening. The editorial staff of the Augusta Chronicle said: ................................................................................... "Only Palin could have led more than 3,000 area GOP faithful to stand in a chilly line snaking down the block and to the Bell Auditorium on a crisp early Monday morning after Thanksgiving. And none of the other speakers who preceded her wasted any time trying to compete with her: The crowd was waiting to explode for her, and it did." ................palomino DID YOU GET YOUR SILLY INSULT FROM "THE OBAMA BOOK OF SMEARS" OR DID YOU MAKE IT UP YOURSELF? I WONDER HOW MANY GEORGIANS WILL BELIEVE YOUR LITTLE OBSERVATION. AFTER TODAY'S PERFORMANCE THE AMAZING GOVERNOR PALIN JUST GETS STRONGER AND STRONGER. SUCH A COURAGEOUS WOMAN IS NOT GOING TO BE DETERRED BY A NOBODY DUMBLETON LIKE YOURSELF. SARAH ROCKS MAN GET USED TO IT!
She may think Africa is a country, but she knows there aren't 57 states in her own country.
Every appearance by Palin disproves the negative, and false, press reports the left are so proud of...of course.
"Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the most imposing presence in Republican politics today..." If this statement is true, it speaks volumes about the shape of the Republican Party. From the Party of Lincoln to George W. Bush to this, as the old cigarette ad use to say...."You've come a long way Baby!"
Palin's only gaffe competition may be Biden, but but her IQ is lower than a worm's, and so are her ethics. The only people that cleared her in Troopergate were put in place by her, and can be fired by her. THAT speaks volumes. She's a wart on the nose of the Republican party, and as long as she's a Repub, I'll never go back to them.
GACopperhead, it seems your the one with the low IQ and ethics. I applaud Palin for trying to fire a policeman who (1) tasered his 10 year-old son, (2) drank while driving a patrol car, and (3) threatened to kill members of her family.
Of which there is no proof! There IS proof though, that on THREE separate occasions during the divorce trial, Palin was ordered by the judge to quit HARASSING the husband. Check your facts, fishboy.
There is no proof of 99% of everything you post GaC, that doesn't seem to inhibit you any.
"In 2006, state investigators found Wooten guilty of "a significant pattern of judgment failures," including using a Taser on his 10-year-old stepson and drinking beer while operating a state trooper vehicle." http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/05/palin.trooper/index.html
Saxby = Big Spending, Big Government, Pro Amnesty SOCIALIST............ Martin = Moderate Democrat............... Vote for what you want
She is without question the most popular VP candidate this country has ever had.
Martin is an anti-capitalist, big government leftist. Chambliss isn't what he could be, but he's a lot better then Martin and not an automatic vote for the hard left agenda.
The misogynist rapper Ludacris headlined a campaign rally for Jim Martin yesterday - guess he's trying to get the support of all Georgia female dogs?
GaC, I guess you are one of the folks that will be boycotting Zaxby's too.
GAC perhaps I'm wrong, but weren't you one of the dummies who, just yesterday, said give your guy a chance & stop the criticism. Life must really suck when you have no core beliefs. Based on your posts, I'll bet the Republican party is not beating your down to get you to come back.
Ga Values, you are right. But...I'm afraid a blank check in the hands of Obama is even more dangerous. I will be voting for Saxby today. Love that chicken from Popeyes....Put a little south in your mouth
Only a Republican would shoot himself in the foot just to spite someone else. You vote against yourselves when you vote for the Republican party. They don't care about YOU unless you're worth BILLIONS. Idiots.
The only person with less ethics and intellect is our newly elected Prez. Here is a man with 8 years experience as a state senator and never mentions the record-just he is a community organizer and lawyer (most politicians will tout their record). Now analyze that we see that translates into he was a lawyer for ACORN (which has had and still has numerous lawsuits pending-not a very good lawyer eh). At least when pretty boy Edwards spoke about being a lawyer he had plenty of cases to defer to. We have a great economic crisis and we elect an incompetent fool to deal with the problem (which he has no economic experience or expertise). Women have choice with abortion but we voters had no choice for prez this year. Our country not producing any better than this is a travesty and demonstrates the poor pool of leaders we have. Independent of party they all sucked.
You've gotten what you deserve, with the republican party....Dow drops 638 points, and the Bush administration admits(a year later) that we're in a recession. Now it comes out that despite repeated warnings, the Bush admin ignored the coming mortgage debacle. These warnings came prior to Dems taking over, and go look who the lobbyists targeted and got to vote against regulations. Hint: it was REPUBLICANS!!!!!
Although this is an elementary school yard level conversation, how does Zaxby's fit into it?
At least i know that my vote will cancel out one of the Repubs. Hope martin wins. Republicans have RUINED this country.
I'm sure Saxby will win. This is Georgia for goodness sakes. They voted for Huckabee in the Rep primary. Over 3000 people? WOW! Maybe they should have bought her a UGA cheerlader uniform to wear, served beer, and played old beach music then they could have had over 15,000 people like the border bash. That really would have energized the Rep base.
I'm still having trouble finding the AC editorials urging us not to vote for the Reps from 2000-2006 to keep W's power in check.
Too bad her visit here had to be on behalf of Chambliss. It's news to me that this steaming dogpile has ANY principles at all.
Sister A: Palin NEVER SAID Africa was a "country," she referred to Africa as a CONTINENT...which it is. And GAC: the only "idiot" here is you. Get YOUR facts straight, it WAS PROVEN that her ex-brother in law did taser his 10 year old son (he should have been arrested for child abuse/endangerment), drove the patrol car while intoxicated, and did threaten bodily harm and death towards members of Palin's family. Just because you think Obama is God, doesn't make it so.
Once again, even on the local level, no choice! Chambliss or Martin-good grief. Pitiful. You can only identify and quantify a recession after the fact so it wasn't "the Bush administration admitting" so much as exposing the fact. The life of the economy isn't dependent on the Prez nor Congress, but they can influence the economy. People will either give credit or fault to Reagan and Clinton for different times of prosperity or decline but I truly doubt they influenced it that much and other factors are at play.
I am surprised that 3,000 white Republicans made it downtown to the James Brown arena even in the daytime! Good Lord, that Sarah Palin can really draw a crowd!
GaC - I'm so glad you will never go back to the Republicans. Just a hint - WE DON'T WANT YOU! The DOW has steadily (except for a couple of quick rallies) declined since Obama was elected. If you think Wall Street is trading down because of a lame duck President think again because they don't look at today when trading. They are reacting to what Congress does (democratic controlled) and what news is coming from the Obama camp (again a democrat). And imagine, with all that the DOW is still declining.
