Rants and Raves

Comments from our readers:

IF EVERYBODY THAT GRIPED about President Bush in the last eight years left the country, and if everybody that's griping about Barack Obama now leaves the country, we're going to have a whole lot of room out here in my neighborhood.

THANK YOU TO whoever put the decorations on the corner of Tobacco Road and Windsor Spring. They look so pretty. I'm so glad that somebody realizes there are people who live on this side of town.

I JUST CAN'T UNDERSTAND all the rants on the guys' baggy pants. Just look around at some of the women with their breasts showing and their skirts so short you can see their panties if they bend over. Disgusting.

WHAT'S THE PROBLEM with the 45 mph speed zone on I-20? No one cares about it. They still drive like fools.

THE NEWS REPORTED "There was a tragic end to a robbery ..." but the tragedy was that the deputy has to live with the fact that he had to take someone's life because that person didn't care enough about his own life or the lives of others.

I JUST SAW ON THE news that Columbia County is getting three new grocery stores. Can south Augusta get some decent new businesses out here? The most recent new businesses we got out here were a car wash and IHOP on Peach Orchard Road and a Fred's outside Fort Gordon.

TO ALL THE NITWITS who drive on Clanton Road: There is a stop sign at the railroad crossing, So stop. Also the speed limit is 30 mph, not whatever you think you can go.

'TIS THE SEASON. Pine Tuckey practice time. Stand Your Own Ground. NRA forever.

A RAVE FOR us who got up, went to work, paid our bills and lived within our means. We didn't cause this crisis; we just get to continue paying for it while those who did sit there with their hands out.

THE BAGGY PANTS issue is actually the issue of young men and boys who are enamored with the allure of the criminal underworld.

A RAVE FOR the people who run Skateland on Windsor Spring Road. Thanks for having a safe and teen-friendly place.

THE REASON THERE are no visible homeless people in Evans is because there are no nonprofits pandering to them.

IN HIS LAST DAYS in office, President Bush is breaking his back to give away as much of American sovereignty as he can.
