AUGUSTA, Ga. - Miss Sharon Lea Partin, 53, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at University Hospital. A memorial service will be held at Lakemont Presbyterian Church on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. with the Reverend Jack Jagoditsch and Reverend Robert Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. Sharon was born in Clarksvile, TN, but lived most of her life in Augusta. She graduated from Augusta State University with a degree in music. She taught private piano lessons for over thirty years and at one time she taught at Southgate Baptist Christian School. Sharon was a former member and served on the Board of Directors of the Augusta Choral Society. She was dedicated to serving the Lord with her music and was choir director for the adult, children, and handbell choirs at Lakemont Presbyterian Church. Prior to serving at Lakemont she was involved in ministry with several other local churches. She is survived by her parents, William H. and Norma S. Partin of Augusta; her brothers, Richard W. Partin and his wife, Sarah of Decatur, AL, and Harold R. Partin of Augusta; a nephew, Richard W. Partin, Jr. and a niece Heather L. Partin both of Decatur, AL; uncles and aunts, Rex B. and Nancy Partin of Augusta, Morris and Josephine P. Davis of Troy, AL, and Charles Slayden of Clarksville, TN; as well as numerous cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the adult or children's choir music ministry at Lakemont Presbyterian Church, 1000 Bluebird Rd., Augusta, GA 30904, or to the Alliance Women's Ministry of First Alliance Church, 2801 Ingleside Dr., Augusta, GA 30909, or to the charity of your choice.
