John William Powell (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. John William Powell, Sr., 80, entered into rest on Thursday, November 27, 2008 at Doctors Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Platt's Belair Road Chapel with the Rev. Troy Pennington officiating. Burial will be private. Mr. Powell was the active owner of Powell Auctioneers and a member of Mann United Methodist Church. He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 205, the VFW Post 649, and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 10. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Eva I. Powell, and his wife of 32 years, Patricia Stone O'Neal. He is also survived by his sons, Bill Powell and wife, Pam, and Mark "Steve" Powell and wife, Diane, and a stepson, Ricky Smith, his grandchildren, Shannon Holloway, Farrah Buki, and Jonothan Powell , his step grandchildren, Jennifer and Rachel McCall, Ricky Smith, Kimberly Lively, Christi Price, Kia Meyer, Josh and Clay Kimbrell, and his nine great grandchildren.
