EDGEFIELD, S.C. - Mr. Orvil Willie Rice, 84, of Hillcrest St., husband of Mae Cook Rice, died Thursday November 27, 2008, at his residence. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, November 30, 2008, at 2 P.M. at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home with burial in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park. Mr. Rice was born in Saluda County and was of the Baptist Faith. He was Retired from Kendall Mill and was a WW II Army Veteran. Survivors include his wife, Mae; 2 Daughters, Frances (Richard) Swearingen, North Augusta, Linda (Luther) Herron, Lincolnton, Rainey (Kelly) Higgenbottom, Eureka; 1 Brother, Merrill Rice, Ninety Six.; 9 Grandchildren; and 14 Great- Grandchildren; and a special pet, Chrisy. Mr. Rice was predeceased by his first wife, Celestine, a son, Christopher, and a granddaughter, Latisha. Memorials may be made to Fellowship of Faith, 604 Main St., Edgefield, S.C. 29824 The family is at the home and will receive friends one hour prior to Service on Sunday at the funeral home.
