Idell H. Land (THOMSON, Ga.)

THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Idell H. Land, 70, beloved wife of Mr. Charles Roy Land, of Howard Street, died Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at her residence. Funeral services will be held, Sunday, November 30, at 3 p.m. in the Second Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Drawdy officiating. Burial will be in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Land was a native of Glascock Co. but had lived in Thomson for many years. She had retired as a Medical Supply Specialist from Fort Gordon. Mrs. Land was a member of Second Baptist Church, were she was a member of the Lady's Bible Class. She was a past member of the Thomson Lioness Club. Survivors include, her husband, Mr. Charles 'Roy' Land, Thomson; her three daughters, Susan (Glenn) Edwards, Thomson; Gail (Roy) Taylor, Dearing; Lisa (Phil) McCorkle, Thomson; a son, Shawn (Lisa) Land, Thomson; a sister-in- law, Mrs. Emily Smith, Thomson; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank three very special caregivers, Mrs. Yvonne Johnson, Mrs. Delores Fountain, and Mrs. Helen McNair, for all the love and care they gave Mrs. Idell. Pallbearers will be, Christopher Taylor, Terry Sherrer, Scott Corbitt, Cody Corbitt, Phillip Edwards, and Leroy Clark. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Friends may call at the Curtis Funeral Home.
