AUGUSTA, Ga. - Virginia Hunt Meehan, 78, entered into rest at her home on Thursday, November 27, 2008. Mrs. Meehan was a native of Holyoke, Mass. She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Harry L. Hunt and brother Robert Hunt, all of Holyoke, Mass. She was a graduate of Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Va., with a Master's degree in Education. She has resided in Augusta, Georgia since 1969 and was the former co-owner of G. Purrs and L'Enfant in the Augusta Mall as well as the Augusta Reading Clinic, Augusta Georgia. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Francis P. Meehan and five children: F.P. Meehan (Betty), Linda Dickey (David), Kathy McManus (Jon), Cindy Dukes (Jamie), Jodi Durden (Dave) and 8 grandchildren: Ben, Alyson and Phillip Dukes, Katie Martin (Bobby) and Abby McManus, Michael Dickey, Ansley and Matt Durden. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Michael Lubinsky officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
