SFC AUGUSTA, Ga. - James Carter, Jr., 91, entered into rest on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the VA Hospital in Stone Mountain, Ga. "Carter", as lovingly referred to by family & friends, served proudly in the U.S. Army from September 10, 1941 to August 31, 1971. As a veteran, military conflicts experienced during his tour of duty included World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great- grandfather and will be dearly missed by his cherished children, Wilhemenia L. Noriega of Pirellas Park, Fla., Ollie L. Buche of Stone Mountain, Ga., Denise Calloway of Lawrenceville, Ga., Vanessia (Roger) C. Kimble of Augusta, Ga., and James Richard Carter of Augusta, Ga. He leaves to mourn: one sister-in- law, Annie Saxon of Keysville, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, neighbors, and friends. Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 11 a.m. at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Gibson Chapel with Brother William Bullock officiating.
