Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will come to Augusta on Monday to campaign for U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss.

Mrs. Palin is expected to appear at the James Brown Arena at 8:30 a.m., according to Mr. Chambliss' Web site, www.saxby.org.

He is accepting reservations on the site for her visits in Augusta, Savannah, Perry and Atlanta. The Web site says doors will open 1 hour before the event and seating is first-come, first-served.

"I was thrilled when I got the call that Gov. Palin would be able to make the trip to Georgia to campaign with me the day before the runoff election," Mr. Chambliss said on his Web site.

The Alaska governor's surprise selection as John McCain's running mate gave his campaign a boost.

Her other campaign stops are 11 a.m. in Savannah, 1:30 p.m. in Perry, and 4 p.m. in north metro Atlanta.

The first-term senator is locked in a runoff against Democratic challenger Jim Martin.

The runoff is Dec. 2. Advanced voting ends today.
