Palin to campaign for Chambliss at arena

  • Follow Metro

Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will come to Augusta on Monday to campaign for U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss.

Mrs. Palin is expected to appear at the James Brown Arena at 8:30 a.m., according to Mr. Chambliss' Web site, www.saxby.org.

He is accepting reservations on the site for her visits in Augusta, Savannah, Perry and Atlanta. The Web site says doors will open 1 hour before the event and seating is first-come, first-served.

"I was thrilled when I got the call that Gov. Palin would be able to make the trip to Georgia to campaign with me the day before the runoff election," Mr. Chambliss said on his Web site.

The Alaska governor's surprise selection as John McCain's running mate gave his campaign a boost.

Her other campaign stops are 11 a.m. in Savannah, 1:30 p.m. in Perry, and 4 p.m. in north metro Atlanta.

The first-term senator is locked in a runoff against Democratic challenger Jim Martin.

The runoff is Dec. 2. Advanced voting ends today.

Can't afford to give

Can't afford to give President-Elect Obama a rubber stamp Senate. I will have to vote for Saxby. Got to have some checks and balances. Martin appears to be a rubber stamp for ANYTHING Obama may recommend, GOOD or BAD.

Why won't she go back to

Why won't she go back to Alaska and stay there? Her support makes me question my support of Sen Chambliss.

isn't this what rush limbaugh

isn't this what rush limbaugh criticized the past democratic presidential and senate candidates for doing. why would chambliss need a losing v p cnadidate to help with his campaign??? i don't get it....when clinton campaigned for various candidates in past election, for example tom daschle, limbaugh lampooned daschle and indicated that clintons efforts was almost a guaranteed loss. so what makes this any different??? what can palin do for chambliss? she doesn't appeal to the undecided voters the true conservative base will turn out without her, this is a foolish move, chambliss should be campaigning on issues and what a difference he will make if given a next term. not having someone who know absolutely nothing about economics, finance, political science, civics or history. what can she say.."support sen chambliss?", why? what could she say to convince me to vote for him?, how close alaska is to russia?, she doesn't even know what the duties of the office she ran for??, so what can she tell me about the current economic and political situations and how the republican party will address them to convince me to vote for chambliss or any other republican candidate???

I've never seen so many

I've never seen so many people terrified of a real conservative before! The sad thing is, negative comments about Palin, are rarely followed by any factual reference to any of her faults. If you are going to disapprove of a person like Palin, at least have a good reason. Repeating the liberal media's rhetoric in zombie-like fashion only proves that you are uneducated and incapable of making decisions for yourselves.
McCain lost the election because he was a RINO politician who had no real conservative values. Palin was the only one that kept the election from being an even bigger landslide.
I for one refuse to believe that the people of Georgia are so clueless that they would hand complete control over to the liberal extremists who want to destroy everything we stand for as a nation. We cannot afford to allow liberal extremists like Obama, and his cronies destroy everything that we have fought so hard to preserve for over 200 years.
Yes, I believe we need change! But the change we need is for people to stand up for the values upon which this country was founded. After watching her life and not just what she says on the campaign trail, I believe that Palin is the change we need.

Uh Owens..."I can see Russia

Uh Owens..."I can see Russia from my house." is a quote from Tina Fey's SNL parody not directly from Sarah Palin. I would assume that you already know that, but the level of ignorance among Obama supporters is astounding. JCHughes has it exactly right.

well jeremy, as a registered

well jeremy, as a registered republican who voted for "W" twice here are my reasons, or questions to you to please answer..1) what is her stance on the growing trade deficit with china?; 2) what is her stance on the middle east-less iraq situation??; 3) what is her stance on the weak dollar against the euro?; 4) what is her stance on the u s slipping into a recession, or does she know what constitutes a recession, because she defintely didn't know what the duties of the vice president is; the only statement she made was that she believes in cutting taxes if that be the case then what is her solution to fund the current wars without the economy on a "war footing?". with a decent backround in economics, civics, history, finance and politicaql science these are the questions that she needs to answer dealing with the current economic and political instabilities we are now facing. oh by the way back in july when gas was 4-5 per gal and oil was 147bbl why was she not consulted for her expertise???, being she was a self proclaimed "expert from an energy producing state of alaska"

Maybe the media crammed this

Maybe the media crammed this Obama guy down the throats of hungry Americans who wanted change? Obama-ites don’t use logic they use SS tactics by punishing you for speaking ill of their leader. Challenge our candidate and you die a slow, painful death by scrutiny and lies, like they did to Palin. The media discredited her and the 527s destroyed her image, John Kerry’s raiders carried out the mission like they’re doing with Saxby right now. Their mission is to get Martin elected at any cost, just like Obama. I get their emails, I subscribe to Kerry’s Help save America site from the dreaded Republican politicians that want to destroy America. If you subscribe to Huffington’s site and Kerry’s site you’ll get inundated with hate emails about conservatives. They are in Georgia right now spending a gazillion dollars getting Martin elected. I’m sure that with the small margin of votes that separates these 2 candidates; dead, transplanted and newly registered democrats will arrive on the scene to vote next week, watch, there will be a plethora of new Dems in Georgia.

Begging your pardon, jisomjr,

Begging your pardon, jisomjr, but Gov. Palin did know what the VP's duties are; in fact, Sen. Biden was incorrect at the VP debate, not Gov. Palin. If you don't believe me, by all means go to FOX news and in the search box type in "Did Biden get it wrong? You betcha." She was right and Biden was wrong. And it really is too bad that Gov. Palin was not consulted by anyone this past summer for her expertise in energy during the gas crunch. She has done good things for her home state in that field, according to her own constituents. People who hate Gov. Palin must not think very much of the Alaskan people who elected her and have given her an 80% approval rating.

By the way, I still don't

By the way, I still don't understand why the news media, along with a lot of these posters, is still slinging mud at Gov. Palin. The election is over and she and Sen. McCain lost. So why are they paying attention to her if they despise her? If I were one of her enemies I would welcome her coming to Georgia to assist Saxby Chambliss. After all, if she is such a bad politician, then she will help him lose. You don't attack someone who isn't a threat.

Chambliss needs to win on

Chambliss needs to win on Dec. 2nd to keep a filibuster proof senate it's that simple. Of course watching the nomination of the good old Clinton gang is heart warming. The change has come, sure it has, changed from a Clinton administration to a Clinton administration but you have to realize there just are not that many intelligent democrates around so you have to have leftovers or do overs. The question really is where is the great one hisself. The answer, if he Martin loses then he has lost political clout before he is ever sworn in, he just can not risk it. Please someone tell me what is his thing about signs, really The office of the president elect, is this to convince him that's what he is or us.

What an honor for Augusta to

What an honor for Augusta to have Gov. Palin come for this short visit. She represents a new wave of conservatism that has been under represented for a long time. She has risen above her critics and has a endured the fiery darts of the main stream media. If all the Dems had on her was "trooper gate" then she must be squeaky clean. She is a threat to the libs and moderates and deserves the red carpet treatment on Monday.

If you go ask her why she

If you go ask her why she left Wasilla in debt. Ask her why she supported the "bridge to nowhere" then lied about it. Ask her why she implemented a windfall profits tax on the oil companies in Alaska then criticized Obama for suggesting the same thing. Ask her why she read talking points off index cards at the debate instead of answering the questions. Ask her why she and her husband are associated with an Alaska separatist party. Ask her why she billed taxpayers a per diem for days she stayed at home. Ask her why her state receives the most earmarks of any state in the union. just a few suggestion.

WOW if we asked "Hisself" any

WOW if we asked "Hisself" any serious questions we would be looking at President elect McCain/ Try getting a complete non idiotic statement from , Say It Ain't So Joe, won't happen, This hype of Hisself being a great orator needed to watch a comparison between him and Bush on both of some of thier favorite words, hmm, ahh and blank looks. Without a writer there is no great orartor. He was kept out of the questioning of serious reporters and allowed to play softball with the liberal post.
Now is Palin wanting , yes absolutely, but most candidates are. We seldom attract smart people to politics, they will not put up with the crap. So we get second and third stringers nd if we do get someone of worth we do not vote for them. Both parties are equal oportunity supporters of the principal , let them eat cake. They feel we as the voter will and do buy into anything if it's promoted right and of course we do.
