SARDIS, Ga. - Mrs. Sara Bonnell Chivers, 96, of Sardis, died Monday, November 24, 2008. She was born in Burke County, November 26, 1911, a homemaker, and member of Sardis Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm Friday, November 28, 2008, at the Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Bill King and Rev. Ken Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in the Sardis Cemetery. Survivors include her two daughters, Sandra (Jerry) Long of Sardis and Sally (Albert) Holland of Waynesboro; two sons, Mack (Marie) Chivers of Sylvania and Billy (Lucille) Chivers of Cocoa, FL; 2 sisters, Esther Jones of Evans and Ruth Jopling of Augusta; ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and a great great grandchild. Pallbearers will be Grandsons; Brian Holland, Matt Holland, Josh Holland, Phillip Chivers, William Chivers, and Jeremy Black. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice House, 1365 Interstate Parkway, Augusta, GA 30909, or Sardis Baptist Church Building Fund, P O Box 280, Sardis, GA 30456.
