The Broncos' secondary has been hampered by injuries to starting linebackers Nate Webster, D.J. Williams, Boss Bailey , cornerback Champ Bailey as well as safety Marlon McCree .
BEARS: Placed veteran offensive tackle Fred Miller on injured reserve and elevated receiver Brandon Rideau from the practice squad on Saturday.
Officially listed with a shoulder injury, Miller appeared in just six games and played mostly on special teams in his 13th season.
The Bears released him in February to avoid paying a roster bonus but brought him back in September following several weeks of talks after first-round draft pick Chris Williams injured his back early in training camp. A fifth-round draft pick by St. Louis in 1996, Miller appeared in 192 games -- 52 with Chicago the past four years.
He helped the Bears reach the Super Bowl two years ago after playing in one with the Rams, the Bears' opponent today.
A fourth-year pro, Rideau spent the first 11 weeks on the practice squad.
Rideau caught five passes for a team-leading 127 yards and three touchdowns in the preseason games.
