The win might have come at a price, as standout goalie Roberto Luongo left early in the game with an apparent injury to his left leg. No official word on his condition was immediately available.

In Ottawa, Daniel Alfredsson and Jesse Winchester scored late in the second period, and Ottawa defeated New York to end a six-game skid.

In Philadelphia, Mike Rich-ards' wrist shot from the slot 1:35 into overtime lifted Philadelphia over Phoenix and extended the Flyers' winning streak to four games.

In Dallas, Ryan Getzlaf scored in the third round of the shootout after goaltender Jonas Hiller denied two of three Dallas shooters to lift Anaheim to the win.

In St. Paul, Minn., Brad Boyes scored twice and backup goaltender Chris Mason made a season-high 31 saves to lift St. Louis over Minnesota.

In Buffalo, N.Y., Joey MacDonald made 35 saves, and New York sent reeling Buffalo to its fifth consecutive loss.
