To attend conference

Tyler A. Inabinet , a fifth-grade pupil at Chukker Creek Elementary School, has been selected to attend the Junior Presidential Youth Inaugural Conference in Washington in January.

Completes Navy basic

Navy Seaman Jeffrey G. Posey , a 2008 graduate of Aiken High School, has completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Citizens of month

The following pupils have been named Citizens of the Month for October at Jefferson Elementary School, Burnettown:

Grace Ann Thompkins, Blake Waller and Daissy Montoya , pre-kindergarten; Keyshawn Shoultz, Gary Abney, Stephanie Zaragoza and Patrick Roof , kindergarten.

Chandler Owensby, Zack Brooks, Justin Judge, Walker Seymour and Brooke Widener , first grade; Mia Johnson, Heather Cosh, Kirstie McElmurray, Kara Wright and Connie Jennings , second grade.

Symphony gets funds

The Aiken Symphony Guild has been awarded $8,022 in operating funds by the South Carolina Arts Commission.
