LAST WEEK: Central defeated Pendleton 42-7; Strom Thurmond beat Southside 61-27

KEY PLAYERS: Central-- DE/TE Justice Cunningham (Sr., 6-4, 250), DE/TE Kegan Funderburk (Jr., 6-3, 210), FB/DL Catrell Allen (Sr., 6-0, 275); Strom Thurmond-- LB/RB Tra'ves Bush (Sr., 5-10, 170), RB/LB Maurice Brown (Sr., 5-10, 185), QB Javon Brown (Sr., 5-11, 165)

KEY MATCHUP: Central's rushing attack vs. Strom Thurmond's defense. Strom Thurmond is undefeated and playing at home because of its strong defense. Central can be bruising on the line and in the backfield.

OUTLOOK: Either team would do well representing the Upper State at Clemson, S.C., on Dec. 6, but a small edge goes to the Rebels because they are playing at home. The winner would likely play host to another undefeated team (Abbeville).

PREDICTION: Strom Thurmond 17, Central 14

LAST WEEK: Eagle's Landing Christian beat Darlington 17-6; Lincoln County beat Social Circle 32-0

KEY PLAYERS: Eagle's Landing Christian-- RB Van Jakes (Sr.,), WR Michael Boynton (Sr.), WR/RB Darrien Henderson; Lincoln County-- RB A.G. Middlebrooks (Jr.), QB Bo Reed (Sr.), DB Jatoyaus Jones (Sr.)

KEY MATCHUP: Eagle's Landing Christian's offense vs. Lincoln County's defense. The Chargers didn't score in their only other previous meeting with the Red Devils (34-0 loss in 2006). If Lincoln County earns another shutout, it will comfortably advance to the quarterfinals.

OUTLOOK: The Red Devils should be able to enjoy one more decisive victory -- in coach Larry Campbell's 500th game, no less -- before things get decidedly tougher next week.

PREDICTION: Lincoln County 24, Eagle's Landing Christian 0

What about Jefferson Co.

What about Jefferson Co. They're in the playoffs too. We just don't get no love. Just because there are no Augusta teams still in the playoffs don't disregard us. Only reason they mentioned Lincoln Co. is because of Larry "Legend" Campbell. Don't hate, appreciate a good team. That's ok Warriors, I got yo back. LET'S GO WARRIORS and good luck tonight!!!

I feel the same way about

I feel the same way about Tech coverage. There'll be more on UGA on an off week than Tech anytime.

Don't waste your breath

Don't waste your breath because the AC sports department died last year and in bad need of juicing up! No love for JEFFCO from that group....
