- To raise money to assist burn victims, the Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation has aluminum-can recycling trailers in the following locations: Doctors Hospital Burn Center, Wheeler Road; fire stations at Richmond Hill Road, Windsor Spring Road, Old Waynesboro Road, Walton Way Extension and the two former fire stations on Central Avenue. Other area locations are Augusta News Print and DSM Chemical. Call the foundation office at (706) 650-2876 for the location near you.

- Bins for newspapers and magazines are at the following locations: municipal building parking lot, Sixth and Telfair streets; Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Eighth and Telfair streets; McBean Community Center, 5106 Old Savannah Road; Hephzibah Pharmacy parking lot, Georgia Highway 88 at Windsor Spring Road; Central Avenue Fire Station, behind Daniel Village; Windsor Spring Road Fire Station; Publix parking lots, National Plaza, 2816 Washington Road, and Furys Ferry Plaza, Furys Ferry Road; and the Augusta-Richmond County Landfill on U.S. Highway 1.

- Sonoco, formerly Paper Stock Dealers, 1525 Government St., (706) 733-7757, takes paper, except parchment.

- Jefferson Smurfit, 1311 Walker St., (706) 722-9603, takes office paper waste, newspapers, magazines, cardboard and aluminum cans.

- Motor oil and transmission fluids can be taken to Jiffy Lube locations: 1642 Walton Way, (706) 738-5709; 3346 Wrightsboro Road, (706) 738-6308; 216 Bobby Jones Expressway, (706) 860-9026; 2028 Windsor Spring Road, (706) 790-3935; 4405 Washington Road, (706) 869-9219; 2734 Washington Road, (706) 738-4111.

- Also, motor oil can be taken to Advance Auto locations: 2112 Lumpkin Road, (706) 793-3282; 2522 Tobacco Road, (706) 560-2192; 1933 Walton Way, (706) 738-7760; 3602 Peach Orchard Road, (706) 790-6511; 3504 Wrightsboro Road, (706) 737-5077; 5140 Wrightsboro Road, (706) 228-4455; 4483 Columbia Road, (706) 863-9371; and 4018 Washington Road, (706) 868-5157.

- Augusta Steel and Metal, 1468 Gordon Highway, (706) 733-2099; takes nonferrous metals (copper, brass, lead, stainless steel, aluminum cans, scrap aluminum, radiators and air conditioner coils).

- CMC Recycling, 1890 Old Savannah Road, (706) 724-5865, takes all metals, including copper, aluminum and appliances.
