NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mr. Jack B. Batson, 83, beloved husband of sixty-one years to Mrs. Doris Sargent Batson and son of the late J.B. and Bertha Connelly Batson, died Monday, November 17th, 2008. Born in Greenville County, SC, he had been an area resident since 1965 where he retired from Clearwater Finishing Plant. He was a member of Clearwater First Baptist Church and the American Legion Post in North Augusta, SC. A World War II Veteran, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Additional family members include a daughter, Jackie Johnson, (Mike) North Augusta, SC; and grandchildren, Zachary and Dylan Maroney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Florence Batson. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 19th, 2008, at 1 o'clock from the graveside, with veterans honors accorded, in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC, with Pastor John Bolin officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Johnson and Milton Maroney. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Friends may call at the family residence following the service on Wednesday.
