BEECH ISLAND, S.C. - Mrs. Mattie A. Lee, 108, of 55 Hazel Grove Rd., entered into eternal rest at Anne Marie Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at D'Antignac St. Church of Christ at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Walker Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Lee will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Viewing will be held today at Peoples Funeral Home from 1 until 6 p.m. The family will receive friends at 55 Hazel Grove Rd., Beech Island, S.C. She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Helen Shephard of Beech Island; two step daughters, Rosa Mae Jones, Claudia Mathis, both of Augusta; one sister, Margaret Shephard of Glenn Burnie, Md.; one son-in-law, Lucious Moote of Philadelphia, Pa.; one granddaughter, Josephine (Robert Lee) Bates of Beech Island; seven great-grandchildren; 30 great-great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and friends.
