Well..was bj white an employee? What money was deposited? How did the police know it was white who stole it? And why would an alarm not be investigated?
Man charged in theft of money from arena
Police charged a 24-year-old Augusta man Friday in the recent theft of $4,000 from a safe inside the James Brown Arena.
B.J. White, of the 1100 block of Eighth Avenue, was arrested on a charge of felony theft by taking.
According to a Richmond County sheriff's report, the money was deposited Friday and belongs to Ovations, a food service provider for the entertainment complex.
Nearly $17,000 had been in the deposit bag, which was found ripped open by an Ovations employee. An audible alarm was triggered last Sunday, but it was disregarded as a false alarm.
Escaped inmate found; another still at large
LAVONIA, GA. --- One of two men who escaped from Fort Hays State Prison on Oct. 13 has been captured in Lavonia.
Police Chief Bruce Carlisle said Johnny Mack Brown, 52, was captured at about 1 a.m. Saturday after scuffling with three officers, who used pepper spray, a baton and a Taser to subdue him.
Mr. Brown was serving a life sentence for the 1977 shooting of an armored car guard. The other escapee, Michael Tweedel, 48, was serving time for two armed robberies. He remains at large.

**oops** ,
who knows. , maybe they had cameras. , proper party did not show up to let the deputy go in and check the building. anything else?
He will get 20 years for stealing $4,000.00, yet had he stole all #17,000.00 he would probably get probation. The more you steal the less time you get.
Who said anything about his race? Even Karma did not stoop that low.
Yea that was really low. I hope you're on your way to church.
I think ispeakadatrugh did not read the article carefully and does not realize the person's name is "B.J. White." However, that seems to be par for the course in most of the comments posted regarding most of the articles, most of the time.
obviously, ispeaka is wrong . If White lives on 8th street, then how can you doubt he lives on 8th street?
The alledged thief is "B.J. White," who happens to be a "non- white." GET-IT!
Is Mr. White an employee of Ovations that had access to the safe? Who found the money? Could the person that found the money removed the $4,000 from the safe? If I'm not mistaken, I thought all safes in the arena are suppose to be locked or secured. Money and checks has been missing from Ovations since the new GM of Ovations arrived, but it was not reported to the news.
yeah...i misread that. i thought he asked if he was white. :O)
