Alicia Davis is the recreation program coordinator with the Aiken Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department. The city's parks department is the organizer of the annual Christmas Craft Show.
1. What is the 38th annual Christmas Craft Show?
The Christmas Craft Show is a city-sponsored event. The show will feature exhibitors from all over the Southeast displaying their craftsmanship and creations of wood furniture, paintings, baked goods, jewelry, holiday ornaments, ceramics, needlepoint, pottery and many other items. All crafts are handmade by the artists.
2. What is there for children to do?
Santa Claus will make a special trip to Aiken and give boys and girls a chance to take a picture with him. Children will also get a chance to make their own holiday craft. Craft for Kids is an opportunity for them to design and take home a holiday craft.
3. Since it is an all-day event, what about food?
Asian and Thai cuisine and Southern barbecue will be available, as well as kettle popcorn and funnel cakes.
4. When is the craft show?
The craft show is on Friday, Dec. 5, and Saturday, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the H. Odell Weeks Activity Center on Whiskey Road in Aiken.
5. What is the admission price?
Admission and parking are free. This is an inside and outside show, so everyone should dress warm if the weather is chilly.
