Michael K. Myrick (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Michael Keith Myrick (Affectionately known as Mike), son of Sarah Myrick Barnes and Cleveland Wallace was born in Barnwell Conty, South Carolina on January 6, 1962. He departed this life on Friday, November 7, 2008 at Heartland Hospice Hospital in Augusta, GA after an extended illness. At an early age, he joined the Rosemary Baptist Church and later united with Christian City of Praise where he attended until declining health. Mr. Myrick was educated in public schools of Barnwell County, South Carolina and Augusta, Georgia, graduating from the Academy of Richmond County. During his years of employment, he was employed with the Augusta Police Department, Columbia County Sheriff's Office, Air Gas, Praxair, KRG Transport, and Diamond Home Repair. His survivors include: One daughter, Brittany Nicole Myrick, Augusta, GA; one granddaughter, Peyton Mi'chael Pollard of Augusta, GA; one step son, Kristopher D. Hoffman of Warrenville, S.C.; a loving mother, Sarah Myrick Barnes of Augusta, GA; father, Cleveland (Carmen) Wallace of Jacksonville, NC; one sister, Felecia Diane Barnes Broadwater of Augusta, GA; two step-sisters, Sonya and Michelle Wallace of Jacksonville, NC; three step-brothers, Lamar G. Barnes, Jr., and Henry Thomas Barnes, both of Augusta, GA, and Eugene Barnes of Washington, DC; two nephews, Christian Michael Barnes and Timothy Lamar Barnes, both of Augusta, Ga; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Memorial services will be conducted this Saturday, November 15, 2008, at 11:00 A.M. at Gardner Grove Baptist Church on Wheeler Rd. Interment will follow at Rosemary Baptist Church in Barnwell, S.C.
