Fish for center
A fall fundraiser to benefit the Augusta Youth Center will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Augusta Youth Center Inc., 302 Watkins St.

Glitzy fundraiser
The Medical College of Georgia will hold Puttin' on the Glitz, a fundraiser, from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday at the River Room, 605 Reynolds St.
The event will feature an open bar, hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction and the music of Flashback.
Tickets are $50. Tables of eight are available for $360. Seating is limited. Proceeds benefit the MCG Health Cancer Center.

Rummage sale
A rummage sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, with a clearance sale Saturday, Nov. 15, at the CSRA Humane Society, 425 Wood St.
Proceeds go to the care of animals at the shelter. Donations may be brought to the shelter Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Southern Christmas
Christmas Made in the South will be held 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at the James Brown Arena, 601 Seventh St.
The event will feature demonstrations by artists and craftsmen, and will have a variety of vendors selling arts, crafts and gourmet food.
General admission is $6. Ages 12 and younger are admitted free. One admission is good for all three days with a hand stamp.

Festival at ranch
A Fall Festival Weekend will be held Friday through Sunday, Nov. 14 to 16, at Graystone Ranch Wildlife Education Center, 1017 McManus Road, Hephzibah.
Gates open at 5 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
The fall festival will feature a petting zoo, hayrides, games, martial-arts demonstrations, dog shows, music and dancing.
Admission is $10 for adults. Children will be admitted free with a paying adult. Weekend wristbands are $15. All proceeds go to benefit animal rescue and conservation.

School open house
A.R. Johnson Health Science and Engineering Magnet High School will hold an open house for prospective parents and students at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, at 1324 Laney-Walker Blvd.
Richmond County students who will be entering grades 7, 8 or 9 for the 2009-2010 school year and who have an interest in health science or engineering fields are encouraged to attend.
Applications will be accepted from Jan. 5-30. Applications will be available at the school or may be downloaded from the school's Web site beginning Dec. 17.

Mission needs help
The Augusta Rescue Mission is in need of donations and volunteers for its annual Thanksgiving meal for the homeless and homebound. The meal will be served 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 27, at the mission, 520 Walker St.
