Blacks should vote for John McCain

  • Follow Letters

During the recent presidential primaries and this period leading to the national election, there have been a plethora of black politicians, talk radio hosts and pundits who have espoused the view of our race as not a monolithic one, but the amalgamation of many religious and social mores. Yet, when it comes to our voting patterns, it is clearly shown that we are nearly of one accord; which is graphically noted in the polls that indicate over 95 percent support for Barack Obama among the African-American community.

How can this be? How can our leaders not see the Democratic Party's relationship with the black community closely resembles the pimp/whore syndrome? They take our tax dollars, and in return, we get poor schools, spotty health care, neighborhoods in decay, dope and crime-ravaged streets. Or maybe it's the battered woman syndrome?

Many of our voices are speaking out against the genocide in Sudan while not speaking out about the 16 million abortions since 1973 carried out in our community; yet our voices are silent when we hear our tax dollars are sent to Planned Parenthood to murder our babies, God's precious children.

Abortion plus the homosexual lifestyle are not a government-driven plan, but instead a self-inflicted wound that is destroying the family lifestyle. The wages of sin is death and we as a community are experiencing it now.

God loves the sinner but hates the sin. It is now time for black ministers to step up to the plate and take a swing at Satan, batting him out of our churches.

The upcoming election is not about Obama vs. John McCain. This upcoming election is about good overcoming evil and choosing life over death.

I am a registered Independent who has no other God-directed choice but to vote for McCain who promised to nominate conservative justices in order to up the odds of defeating the murderous Roe v. Wade decision.

The old folks used to have a saying, "Don't cut off your nose to spite your face." Black community, I am asking you to pray to God for the knowledge and wisdom in order to cast a vote for Him and His laws. Don't let your blanket dislike of the Republican Party influence your vote. Cast it for the man who more closely backs God's laws.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.

Liberals believe that people

Liberals believe that people are basically good and can figure out things for themselves. Shivas said that earlier. I find that to be a very odd statement in that it is mostly the left that comes down with the laws to protect us from ourselves. I think that elite libs have great disdain for the ability of people to think and decide for themselves. All you have to do is read some of the posts of the lib so called and self proclaimed elite who post here---Gunby, eel, jhrc---to see how stupid they think most people are.

I find the thread amusing...I see conservatives calling for the country to be torn apart, so called "patriots" whining and being unpatriotic...I don't like pity parties so I'm outta here..I will say this before I go: America is fine, America is going to be okay..If your belief in this country can be rocked by something as simple as your canidate losing an election you really don't belong in this country and you never were a REAL AMERICAN!!! Love your country, not government! And for the racist with racist comments let me inform you black people didn't elect Sen. Obama alone people of all colors voted for him!! Lastly, if you can't deal with a President Obama leading this country the choice is simple: LEAVE!!!

bcs... where are you getting

bcs... where are you getting your data from that more whites than blacks get welfare?? I've never seen that anywhere, but any-hoo... there are more whites in the US than blacks.... so instead of numbers of who gets it, what are the percentages ??? That is where the big effect would show up??? Is it that 55 or 72 or 82 or whatever percent of whites get it and only 44 or 36 or 21 or whatever below 50 percent of blacks get it? Just curious where you came about your conclusions that more whites get it than blacks...

Marco that's the way to

Marco that's the way to unity. You, like many others, throw out the stereotypes. That would be like me saying all blacks like fried chicken and watermelon and are lazy and on welfare. That comment is just as stupid as your white trash one.

let's see, as a educated

let's see, as a educated black man i am supposed to vote for someone WHO DOES NOT HAVE A CLUE ABOUT ECONOMICS OR FINANCE!!!. let's see vote for someone who with the country falling rapidly into a recession and wants to continue to spend 10 billion in IRAG, but under funding the war in afganistan. we are bailing out wall street and other corporations as they step up to the pay windows, doesn't have and did not explain what he would do differently than the current adminstration, the one who has this country almost 11 trillion dollars in debt, the largest expansion of government and government programs since johnson's war on poverty. yes we must be on guard against terrorism, but this country is in serious peril from within, DUE TO THE FAILING ECONOMY, raising unemployment rates, companies failing everyday, layoffs...YEAH..OKAY..it's smart to vote for someone who doesn't have a working knowledge of hoe the economy works, or a ticket that has a vp candidate who doesn't have a clue what the vp does, or doesn't even know that africa is a continent...yeah right
