Blacks should vote for John McCain

  • Follow Letters

During the recent presidential primaries and this period leading to the national election, there have been a plethora of black politicians, talk radio hosts and pundits who have espoused the view of our race as not a monolithic one, but the amalgamation of many religious and social mores. Yet, when it comes to our voting patterns, it is clearly shown that we are nearly of one accord; which is graphically noted in the polls that indicate over 95 percent support for Barack Obama among the African-American community.

How can this be? How can our leaders not see the Democratic Party's relationship with the black community closely resembles the pimp/whore syndrome? They take our tax dollars, and in return, we get poor schools, spotty health care, neighborhoods in decay, dope and crime-ravaged streets. Or maybe it's the battered woman syndrome?

Many of our voices are speaking out against the genocide in Sudan while not speaking out about the 16 million abortions since 1973 carried out in our community; yet our voices are silent when we hear our tax dollars are sent to Planned Parenthood to murder our babies, God's precious children.

Abortion plus the homosexual lifestyle are not a government-driven plan, but instead a self-inflicted wound that is destroying the family lifestyle. The wages of sin is death and we as a community are experiencing it now.

God loves the sinner but hates the sin. It is now time for black ministers to step up to the plate and take a swing at Satan, batting him out of our churches.

The upcoming election is not about Obama vs. John McCain. This upcoming election is about good overcoming evil and choosing life over death.

I am a registered Independent who has no other God-directed choice but to vote for McCain who promised to nominate conservative justices in order to up the odds of defeating the murderous Roe v. Wade decision.

The old folks used to have a saying, "Don't cut off your nose to spite your face." Black community, I am asking you to pray to God for the knowledge and wisdom in order to cast a vote for Him and His laws. Don't let your blanket dislike of the Republican Party influence your vote. Cast it for the man who more closely backs God's laws.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.

Earl Davis

I really don't think MLK, Jr.

I really don't think MLK, Jr. would be voting for Obama. According to a family member, Dr. Alveda King, at a Right to Life meeting in Augusta, he and his family were and are pro-life. If he had known Planned Parenthood was going to become an abortion mill, contributing to the murder of over 16 million unborn black babies, I doubt very seriously he would have accepted the award from that organization. He thought that the mission of Planned Parenthood was sexual education and family planning when he accepted that award. He probably did not know that the woman that founded Planned Parenthood was racist against blacks and contributed to their genocide by promoting abortion in black communities. He must be turning over in his grave being on the same t-shirt with Obama and people claiming that Obama's platform coincides with his dream. Since Obama refused to ban the abortion procedure that allows babies to be partially born, their skulls crushed and their brains sucked out, it must now be a nightmare. If MLK, Jr. had a dream, Obama's candidacy was not part of it.

By the way, the founder of Planned Parenthood was Margaret Sanger, whose ideas inspired Adolf Hitler. This is NOT a good resume for being part of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s dream.

No, but I saw the ones where

No, but I saw the ones where some of Obama's supporters thought McCain's policies were Obama's and thought Sarah Palin was going to be Obama's V.P. if elected. There's plenty of ignorance on both sides. There is also thankfully some intelligence on both sides. Now if people will only use it to study the issues instead of basing their decision on the empty promise of change that is not defined.

That supporter probably used that term because of prejiduce. You want stupid, look at the Joseph woman saying when Obama is elected she will no longer have to pay for gas or her mortgage (I seriously doubt a stupid woman like that has a mortgage!!!). I hate to think that predatory campaigners preyed on ignorant people to tell them blatant lies to get votes (I am sure BO did not sanction this, but this shows that rogue campaigners may stoop to any level to get votes).

Disssman, your quote "I am

Disssman, your quote "I am sure that if god wants Johnny Mac, then he being the all powerful, will intercede and strike a miracle." First off when referring to God Almightly how about having some respect and capitalize the g in God. Second you are correct, if it's God's will for McCain to succeed then he will. If it's God's will for Obama to succeed, then it will be but that doesn't mean it will be good for the American people. It just might be that we as a Nation have turned our backs on God and this is the only way he can get our attention and focused back on God Almightly. Allow Satan to dish it out to us until we are ready to turn back to the one true God.

You are wrong shivas. The

You are wrong shivas. The internet is not the pinnacle of useful information. Studies indicate only 30% of the information on the internet is reliable. The majority of the internet is dedicated to porn. It has drifted far from its original intent. People take the content of opinion based blogs as the gospel for an example. The DailyKos is just propaganda. Less than 30% of the population have a college degree and while literacy is high in
America math and science skills are low-which likely reflects a low intellectual ability. The average american is unable to run a business or attain a college degree.

"Personally I feel Obama is a better choice for my life's circumstances ..."..........Posted by cparker on Tue Nov 4, 2008 6:44 AM .......................................................................................................................That is one of the phrases that will be used in writing the obituary for the demise of our representative form of government. Basing the choice of candidates on "my life's circumstances" is not conducive to good government.

To read the comments of justus4 you would think someone had taken a whip to him very recently. justus, if you have not had enough time to overcome the obstacles that were put in the path of your ancestors, then it's no one's fault but your own.. Some of my ancestors endured similar conditions to get here and when they got here, they endured hardship I can't imagine.

The Democrats aim is to keep

The Democrats aim is to keep those that rely on the government in their place by promising to hand them more entitlements instead of creating opportunities to better themselves. Better education, more stable families, better job opportunities, and better housing enables one to be self reliant. The Dems promise of handouts, entitlements, etc. keep those at the bottom in place, taking away the initiative to better themselves. BO is against school vouchers, giving parents the opportunity to choose the school their kids attend. Instead, he thinks the government should choose (while his attend private schools I am sure). Education leads to better opportunities in the job market and allows one to afford better housing. The Dems throw the lower class table scraps and makes them feel grateful. BO's policies will hinder the economy and unemployment will grow, and it is usually the uneducated and unskilled that get cut first (and probably the very ones who supported Obama).

Bizarro, you are wrong again.

Bizarro, you are wrong again. The internet has led greatly to access of information. You have the belief that people are inherently stupid. That's OK, it's a conservative, right-wing idea. Liberal believe that people are basically good and can figure out things for themselves. The greatest part of this election is the minimization and the death of right-wing radio. People become powerful when they have accurate information, and that is why Obama is surging. 70% for porn? Please don't project your usage rates on the rest of us!

Your ignorance is showing

Your ignorance is showing shivas. It is a biological fact of being human-there is a normal distribution of intelligence!!!!! Nothing personal about it, but most Americans lack the mental faculties to attain a college degree or run a business. You can believe any kind of voodoo you please but it has nothing to do with reality-people are good and can figure out things themselves is a joke right? The last sentence is pitiful and demonstrates the typical Liberal method of attacking the person rather than dealing with the issue. The figures for porn use may have changed but the majority is still dedicated to porn-that is because people are inherently good, right? Jeez! I guess you also believe all the opinions offered in the DailyKos are facts too.

Death of right wing radio,

Death of right wing radio, ever hear of the bankrupt and rarely listened to Air America? The Dems are pushing for the Fairness Doctrine to be revived since the liberal talk radio has not been well received by listeners. Seems as if this would fall under the free market economy and supply and demand. There is no great demand for liberal talk radio, but there is for right wing talk radio. If the Dems can't get what they want, they will legislate it to make it so.

Well duh who would vote

Well duh who would vote aganst the ones that give them the handouts. That's why they do it. It's as close to buying votes legally as you can get. For the person that said right wing propoganda radio is dead? You must not look at the ratings. If they are so dead how come democrats constantly complain and want the government to force radio stations to play liberal radio shows. Stations only play what they have a market for.

I don't think he is the anti christ. In fact I think he is probably a decent guy. I just think he should have waited one more term before running. He could have worked on his foriegn policy and made a name for himself as a leader not a follower. He has basically run on a Mccain=Bush ticket. It may work for him and if he wins I wish him all the luck. I think he's in over his head though. That's just my opinion.
