It's his beliefs, not his skin color

Regarding Larry Jarrett's recent letter:

Contrary to his thinking, South Carolina and Georgia have more savvy than he does. It is not because Barack Obama is part black that people oppose him, it's for his really radical record. Not only his Senate record, which is genocidal where newborn babies are concerned, but also because he does not know how to choose his friends.

There is an old saying, that you know the man by the company he keeps. And just who have Obama's friends been? First is Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who preaches hate for whites and America; he was the Obama family pastor for 20 years.

Second, is William Ayers, the unrepentant bomb-throwing anti-capitalist terrorist, who has been an Obama political ally for years. Recently Ayers met with radical left Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez and has worked with Obama for ACORN, an allegedly corrupt nationwide voter registration group that falsifies registrants...

These issues are only the tip of the iceberg. Until he was 7 years old, Obama was instructed in Muslim beliefs. You do not forget teachings of your formative years. Earlier this year on TV Obama made what would seem to be a Freudian slip, talking of "my Muslim faith." The commentator said, "You mean your Christian faith?" and Obama replied, "My Christian faith."

America is a Christian nation, formed by our ancestors. They would turn over in their graves if they could see the likes of Obama. If someone like Gen. Colin Powell, Condoleeza Rice or even Bill Cosby ran for president, we know America would be their first priority. But Obama, quite frankly, could be the downfall of the United States.

We have enough bad politicians in Congress, like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. These people need to be thrown out, for they do not represent America. And people like Larry Jarrett need to start seeing the light.

Fortunately it is our right

Fortunately it is our right as an American citizen to hate or love anyone or anything we like. Pity it is so much easier to hate than love. Strange the thought of hate crimes and legislation related. Don't we all hate crime.hee,hee,hee. I guess it would be great to have no hating because of race or age or gender or sexual preference or religious preference or no religious preference or abortion or political belief or etc. etc. etc OR will their be a Fairness doctrine so you can hate specific religious groups like christians or muslims and perhaps some other exceptions.

PH...you have hate festering inside of you. If you have a problem with Obama's "socialist" views, why don't you pack it up and move.

The funny thing here is, he

The funny thing here is, he is refered to as the first black to maybe get elected. Unless I'm colored blind his mother, grandmother, and the guy in the picture with his grandmother appear to be white. So there goes that, as an excuse to vote for him.

What is so very amazing to me

What is so very amazing to me is how all of you who spew hatred and contempt on this Board for everything and everyone that is different from you...is how you throw around what Martin Luther King said, thought or might feel. It just doesn't wash.

Ekizabeth I think you are a

Ekizabeth I think you are a person who wouldn't vote for Jesus Christ because he was dark skinned. If you are such a great christian why aren't you a believer in the faith of Jesus who was a jew? And another thing, if you knew a little more you would understand that the muslim faith is based on the old testament, or is there something in that set of documents you have a problem with? I know you are trying really hard to keep your disdain for the black man covered up, but dear it is really showing through!!

Obama is our president. Get

Obama is our president. Get over it! Yes, McCain had a lot of great views and he is more experienced than Obama; either way history has been made. I don't understand why people is so infuriated by the thought of his beliefs. He's not holding a seance or speaking voodoo. He's making a change for us and not all of us will ever be satisfied but at least it will be a start for something new and better than what Bush had to offer us. My Korean mother said it might be a Apocalypse for a black man to run our country, but I believe that he's a good honest MAN and should not be judged by what color he is or what religion he prefers. He has good moral standards and has every intention to make the right decisions.

You're right toppergem,

You're right toppergem, pairing Obama with Martin Luther King, Jr. just doesn't wash. Martin Luther King, Jr., would never have supported a procedure that caused the genocide of over 16 million black babies. He supported Planned Parenthood only as an organization to teach sexual education and family planning, not as an abortion mill. If he knew what Margaret Sanger was really up to, he would have given back the award she gave him. Ask Dr. Alveda King, his niece if he would have voted against the partial birth abortion ban, like Obama did.
